Today, after your arrival in Suzhou, our guide will meet you at the lobby of hotel. After your check-in, the rest time you can spend by yourself for free walking or anything else. Please keep a touch with your guide anytime.

Day 2 – Travel in Suzhou
What to do today: take a travel to Pan Gate, The Grand Canal (Cruising by Hand-operated Boat), Rickshaw ride, The No.1 Silk Factory, Lingering Garden, Hanshan Temple
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Pine and Crane Restaurant

▪ The Grand Canal (Cruising by Hand-operated Boat) (40 minutes) :
The Grant Canal and the great wall are the two miracles created by Chinese ancient people. The great canal is the earliest and longest man-made rivers in the world with a history of 2400 years and a length of 1,700 kilometers. It played a great role in the long Chinese historical and cultural communication. The great canal in Suzhou has a length of 82.35 kilometers, which is about 39 percent of its whole length in Jiangsu province, and at present, it is also the highlighted part of Grand Canal in China. Taking a cruise tour on the Canal, which needs approximately 40 minutes, the travelers can see the traditional life of local people.
▪ Rickshaw ride (1.5 hours) :
This is a quite interesting interactive activity or experience by rickshaw to go through the old streets and the lanes in Suzhou, and during the talk with drivers, you will touch the real aspect of local people’s life. It is the importance access to the grassroots’ life.
▪ Pan Gate:
Pan Gate(盘门) or Panmen is an ancient city gate with land and water entrances. Pan Gate is a remarkable landmark of ancient city area of Suzhou, and its huge architectural complex remains lots of the footprints of history. It is located at the southwest part of Suzhou, and in 2006, it was approved to be the key site under the national protection, thanks to being the important historic site of Yuan Dynasty.
▪ The No.1 Silk Factory (1 hour) :
Suzhou nationwide together with Hangzhou is the most important center of making silk productions. What the ancient emperors wore, and the clothes that the dignitaries or celebrities dress are traditionally made of the silk, including the handkerchiefs and embroideries, are mostly from Suzhou. The No.1 Silk Factory is the nationally famous silk producing firm. In the No.1 silk factory, you can see the whole procedure of making a silk production from it processed from the silkworms to final product.
▪ Lingering Garden (1 hour) :
Lingering Garden(留园) is the quintessence of classical gardens in Suzhou, and a site written into the list of World Cultural Heritage Sites. It is a typical and representative private garden cluster built in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Lingering in the garden, you may be attracted by its marvelous architectural art and layout design in details.
▪ Hanshan Temple :
Suzhou Hanshan Temple(寒山寺), literally translated to be Suzhou Cold Mountain Temple, is located in Fengqiao Town, five kilometers away from Xichangmen of Downtown Suzhou. Hanshan Temple is a classic tourist attractions and heritage site of China. The influence and significance of Hanshan Temple in Chinese culture history is unsurpassed by any other Buddhist temple in China. In some way, it is a symbol of Chinese classic poem, even the traditional literature of China.
▪ Pine and Crane Restaurant :
The Pine and Crane Restaurant(松鹤楼) is the most famous restaurant in Suzhou as a time-honored brand. The Pine and Crane Restaurant is located in the bustling hub of Suzhou City. Originally dating back to 1780, the Pine and Crane Restaurant has undergone plenty changes, history-wise and cuisine-wise. It boasts for the richly tasteful Su-style cuisine and offers Suzhou tour makers a feast of both taste buds and eyes.
Day 3 – Tongli Water Town & Departure
What to do today : Travel in Tongli water town and have a cruise trip in town, and then depart from Suzhou
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Tongli Nanyuan Tea House
▪ Tongli Water Town:
Tongli water town(同里水镇) is one of six most famous ancient towns in Jiangnan region. It is located in Wujiang district, Suzhou city. Originally built in Song Dynasty, it has a history over 1000 years up to today. It is a real water town famous for its ancient history. It just has 18 kilometers away from downtown Suzhou. In 1982, it was the only township site listed into the provincial protection. In 1995, it was accepted as the provincially famous town for history and culture. In 1998, it together with Retreat & Reflection Garden (Tuisiyuan Garden) was written into the tentative list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites
▪ Tongli Cruise Sightseeing (30 minutes):
Taking a cruise sightseeing is the best way to visit the town and touch the water culture in Tongli.
▪ Tongli Nanyuan Teahouse:
Nanyuan Teahouse (南园茶社), traditonally boasting Jiangnan’s No.1 Teahouse, was built in late Qing Dynasty. Nanyuan Teahouse, located in Tongli ancient town, is like a pavilion floating on the water. You can also hear the street vendors walking and shouting to sell their fishes, shrimps and vegetables, see the old locust trees, magpie birds flying, and village girls whose hairs with embroidery make-ups washing clothes along the river.
