In the morning, the guide and driver meet you at the lobby of your hotel at 8:00 around, and then begin your classic day tour in Shanghai. On the way to the first sightseeing destination, your guide will give you a brief introduction to Shanghai including its history and current development.
Your first travel destination is Shanghai City God Temple – This is a nationally famous Taoist temple with a history more than 800 years. It was built originally in Song Dynasty. Today, it is a historical landmark of Shanghai tourist attractions. Currently, as a sacred religious destination, City God Temple is also well known as a leisure paradise for tasting the snacks and buying the handicrafts.
And then, we move to Yuyuan Garden – This is the most famous classical garden in Shanghai, and the first must-see site among the tourist attractions of Shanghai. As a typical private garden in east China, it has a privileged garden in quality and size. To read the history of Yuyuan Garden in some way is to understand the history of Shanghai.
After that, we head to The Bund – This is a worldwide famous fenceless museum of international building art, which is also the landmark of Shanghai and records the modern history of China. Taking a free walking along the Bund, you may have a special feeling of walking through a hundred years’ time and space of Shanghai from its past to future. The Bund today is a milestone together with the Huangpu River jointly playing a role of dividing Shanghai into two parts – the traditional zone and the future zone, and the future zone is your next visit – Pudong New Area.
Then, we continue trip to Pudong New Area – This is the today and future of Shanghai and China. The development trend of Shanghai is the trend of China. Opposite to the Bund, it is the financial center of China – Lujiazui, which is highlighted with so many international multinational headquarters and globally famous skyscrapers like Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower.
Afterwards, we visit to China Pavilion of World Expo Park – This is center to hold the World Expo Shanghai 2010. We will see mainly China Pavilion which boasts the Oriental Crown. It is the largest pavilion in the World Expo Park with the largest display in the history of World Expo. The total costing to build the pavilion is estimated 220 million USD, and it is also considered as the most expensive one. It is strongly featured of the traditional cultural elements of architecture and the modern architectural style in China. Today, it is a museum named officially China Art Museum, Asia’s largest museum of art.
Then, we take a sightseeing tour to the French Concession - Shanghai French Concession was the largest foreign concession in Shanghai during the period from 1849 to 1946. It is the typically traditional residential and retail zones of Shanghai, and also the Catholicism center of Shanghai. With a great development over the past tens of years, the area retains a distinct character, and is a popular tourist destination. It is quite similar to the windy streets of Montmartre. Roughly bounded by Ruijin Lu to the East, Yan’an Lu to the North, Zhaojiabang Lu to the South and Huashan Lu to the West, it is quiet, tree-lined and teeming with boutiques, bars and restaurants for Shanghai’s hedonists.
Finally, we end our day trip in Xintiandi Zone – Xintiandi is the most famous leisure center in Shanghai with the typical western old building complex and the strong western life atmosphere. It is quite cozy place to take a break here to drink some coffee or have a free talk with friends here. This is the final place in your trip.
