IN THE MORNING – After your breakfast, please go to the lobby of the hotel, and your guide and driver are waiting for you over there. Then, start your today’s trip from moving to the West Lake, a holy lake of traditional elite culture in China. It was included into the list of world cultural heritage site in 2011, rather than as a nature heritage, though it possesses a great charming natural landscape as well. In China, it is the spiritual habitat of traditional scholars-officials, and described as the sacred inspiring land for literary and artistic creation.
We firstly spend approximately 50 minutes on cruise trip on the West Lake, to view the poetic scenery of West Lake, including some of ten classic views defined by ancient emperors. Then, we visit to the hillside area of Geling Hill, to touch the Taoism culture in Baopu Taoist Temple, which is the only Taoist monastery around the West Lake. After that, we go down to the foot of the hill to visit the Xiling Society of the Seal Arts, a sacred cultural center of Chinese engraving art, or Jinshi Culture, a type of exclusive culture popular with the elite of China. The last stop in the morning is the Confucius Temple (including the Stele Forest), which the most solemn site in memory of Confucius and his saints in Hangzhou. The culture of Confucianism and the art of calligraphy are both available here.
IN THE AFTERNOON – After lunch (on your own expense), we move to China Silk Museum, the national silk-related museum in China, to know the history and culture of sericulture and embroidery. After that, we enter the Yuhuang Hill or Jade Emperor Hill, and follow the mountainous route to get to the summit place, and then visit the Fuxing Taoist Temple,a site for housing the deity of the treasure in Taoism. For business, it is a must place to go. And then have a panoramic view to the Eight Diagrams Farming Field, an imperial farming land designed to be a layout of eight diagrams.
