Day 1 - Arrival in Nanjing ( -/L/- )
Accommodation - Zhenbao Holiday Hotel
Arriving in Nanjing railway stations or Nanjing Lukou Airport in the morning, you are picked up by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Nanjing.
After lunch, start your Nanjing tour with the visit to Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum(明孝陵):
As a famous world cultural heritage site, it is a shared tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang and his Wife with a surname of Ma, in other words, the multi-burial mausoleum of emperor and empress, the founders of Ming Dynasty. The mausoleum was built in 1381, and in 1382, Empress Ma passed away, and buried in this mausoleum. In 1398, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang passed away and buried in this mausoleum as well. In 1413, as the completion of The Stele of Godly Merit and Saintly Virtue of Xiaoling Mausoleum in Grand Ming Empire, the whole mausoleum area was entirely completed. So in history of Ming Dynasty, Nanjing served as the capital had a privilege in all aspects. The posthumous title of Empress was Xiao Ci(孝慈, filial piety and kindness), therefore, the mausoleum was named to Xiao Ling. It is the top one among the mausoleums of Ming Dynasty in Beijing and Nanjing, and stands for the top achievement of architectural art and stonecutting art in Ming Dynasty. The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum gives a direct influence to the final formation of imperial mausoleum design, a time of roughly 500 years, such as the Ming Tombs of Beijing, Chuangwang Mausoleum of Hubei province, Qing Mausoleum in Beijing, Liaoning province and Hebei province. All of these imperial mausoleums, approximately 20 imperial tombs, were all built following the convention of Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum.
And then travel to Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum(中山陵):
Known as Zhongshan Ling in Chinese, it is situated on Zhongshan Mountain (Bell Mountain) in the eastern suburb of Nanjing. This mountain is also known as Zijin Mountain or The Purple Gold Mountain. The mausoleum is built to bury the mortal remains of Sun Yat-sen, the founder of Kuomintang and the Republic of China, and even the modern China. He was both highly respected as the leader of KMT and CPC.
Go on visit to Linggu Temple(灵谷寺):
Linggu Buddhist Temple boasts the best Buddhist temple in the world. Originally built in 515, in Ming Dynasty, it was moved to today’s site and rebuilt by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, due to its great Fengshui to the whole Ming Empire, and the original site became today’s Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. The temple also for housing and shrining the remains or Sheli of Buddhist Master Xuanzhuang, the hero who led four sacred souls to western paradise to get the Buddhist holy sutras in mythological novel named the Pilgrimage to the West. Currently, it chiefly consists of Linggu Temple, Linggu Pagoda, the Beamless Hall, the Entrance Gate, the Paifang and a large screen wall.
After traveling, go back to hotel in Nanjing, and take a free time for the rest day.
Day 2 - Nanjing > Suzhou by Bullet Train (B/L/-)

After breakfast, visit to Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall(大屠杀纪念馆):
In memory of more than 300, 000 victims killed Japanese troop invaders in 1937. It is located in the southwestern corner of Nanjing and it is historically known as Jiangdongmen, which used to be one of the execution grounds and mass burial places of the cruel holocaust. The memorial hall was built in 1985, and enlarged in 1995. It is the themed exhibition sites displaying the historical records and objects and many other treasured remains to unfold that most nightmarish and humiliated period of modern China and the most nonhuman savage act by the most evil monster-like country – Japan, in the world.
Then go to Yangtze River Bridge(长江大桥):
It is the symbolic architecture and project to show the achievements that new China got from 1949 to 1979, when China was under the leadership of Chairman Mao, and operated by the Planned Economy. The bridge was completely built in 1968. This is the first bridge across the Yangtze River in Nanjing. It is absolutely designed and constructed by Chinese people without any external assistance. It is quite advanced at the time for its double-decker and double-tracking style for both highway and railway transportations.
Move on to the Presidential Palace(总统府):
Located at 292 Changjiang Road, in the Xuanwu District, it housed the Office of the President of the Republic of China before the republic relocated to Taiwan in 1949. Today, it is the China Modern History Museum. The Presidential Palace (Zongtong Fu) is a fascinating witness to some of the most tumultuous events of the last two centuries of Chinese history. The huge complex covers several city blocks, and ranges from classical gardens to neo-European villas and administrative buildings.
Visit to Zhonghua Gate(中华门):
Zhonghua Gate or China Gate is the south gate of Capital of Ming Dynasty. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was also called Jubao Gate. Among the gates of Nanjing, it is the grandest one, and also the largest and most complete gate with fortress-style town outside the city gate throughout China. Its design and functionality setting have a great influence in history of Chinese architecture.
Move on to Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History Museum(太平天国博物馆):
The museum is housed in a garden complex built in Ming Dynasty.It used to be the official residences of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The museum is a themed displaying center exhibiting the history of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a peasant’s anti-Qing government in later Qing Dynasty.
Finally visit the Confucius Temple (夫子庙):
Locally known as Fuzimiao, it originally was the site to offer sacrifice to Confucius. Confucius Temple was built in 1034 located on the north side of Qinhuai River. It makes full of Qinhuai River as its Panchi(泮池, the substantial part of traditional Confucius temple or national &imperial educational center). And its Zhaobi (照壁, a traditional and philosophical decoration to the family mansion) is located on the south side of the river. Juxing Pavilion(聚星亭) and Sile Pavilion(思乐亭) are located on front of the temple. The main buildings like lingxing Gate, Dacheng Gate, Mingde Hall, Dacheng Hall and Zunjing Pavilion are all located on the axes. The whole building complex was resurfaced in 1985. The surrounding houses and stores were all rebuilt in the style of architecture in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
After the tour, back to Nanjing South Railway Station around 6:00pm for Suzhou. Your Suzhou guide will meet you at the Suzhou railway station and then transfer to the hotel, the rest of the day for free activities.
Day 3 - Suzhou > Hangzhou by Bullet Train (B/L/-)

At 8:30 am, Guide will meet you at the lobby of the hotel and then start your tours in Suzhou.
Firstly, visit to Suzhou Museum(苏州博物馆):
Suzhou museum is a typical regional art museum highlighted with the exhibition of history and culture of Suzhou, which used to be the center of Jiangnan, or east China. Officially opened in 1960 and newly-built in Oct. 2006, Suzhou Museum is situated on Dongbei Street. The designer is Bei Lvming(贝律铭), also widely known I.M. Pei,an internationally famous master architect. The base of museum used to be the Mansion of Li Xiucheng(李秀成, 1823-1864), crowned the King of Loyalty in Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, an anti-Qing government founded by rebels in late period of Qing Dynasty. With a total area of more than 8,000 square meters, the museum is artistically separated into three sectors, respectively the east part, west part and the middle part. The middle area features a hall building with a great and exquisite decoration with a local color drawing in Suzhou.
Then walk along Pingjiang Road (平江路):
This is an ancient historic and cultural street for over 800 year. It is also a well preserved waterside path in Suzhou. Pingjiang Road is a classic and typical site of history to show the local custom and tradition.
After Chinese lunch, visit to the Master of the Nets Garden(网师园):
It was originally ordered to be built in the year of 1174, in the South Song Dynasty by an official removed from the government, and firstly named as Ten-thousand of scrolls Hall, the forerunner of the Master of the Nets Garden. In a period of 500 years from Song dynasty to Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the hosts of this garden were changed again and again. Till the Qing emperor Qianlong's reign, the name was changed to the present one.
Travel to Panmen Gate and Grand Canal(盘门/运河):
Panmen is an ancient city gate with land and water entrances. Pan Gate is a remarkable landmark of ancient city area of Suzhou, and its huge architectural complex remains lots of the footprints of history. It is located at the southwest part of Suzhou, and in 2006, it was approved to be the key site under the national protection, thanks to being the important historic site of Yuan Dynasty.
The Grant Canal and the great wall are the two miracles created by Chinese ancient people. The great canal is the earliest and longest man-made rivers in the world with a history of 2400 years and a length of 1,700 kilometers. It played a great role in the long Chinese historical and cultural communication. The great canal in Suzhou has a length of 82.35 kilometers, which is about 39 percent of its whole length in Jiangsu province, and at present, it is also the highlighted part of Grand Canal in China. Taking a cruise tour on the Canal, which needs approximately 40 minutes, the travelers can see the traditional life of local people.
After the tour, go to Suzhou Railway Station around 6:00pm for Hangzhou. Arriving in Hangzhou, your guide of Hangzhou will meet you at the railway station and then transfer to hotel in Hangzhou.
Day 4 - Hangzhou > Shanghai by Bullet Train ( B/L/-)

After breakfast, starting your Hangzhou tour in West Lake(西湖):
Firstly, taking a cruise tour in lake to have a panoramic view of the whole scenic area, West Lake is the only site of world cultural heritage and the cultural landscape of UNESCO in Hangzhou. West Lake is the most beautiful lake in the world for its cultural and natural beauties. The most ten classic highlights of West Lake Scenic Area are the great calling cards of history and culture of West Lake.
After finishing your cruise tour at the Huagang Park Wharf, and then go to Huagang Park (花港观鱼, Viewing Fish at Flowers Harbor). It with a history over 800 years is one of ten top classic views of Hangzhou West Lake highlighted with flowers, harbor and fishes. It is located on a little isle between xili part of the lake(西里湖) on the west of the south section of the Su Causeway and Little South Lake(小南湖). In accordance with the historical record, there used to be a small stream at the foot of Huajiashan Hill(花家山, the hill of flower family), and it flowed in West Lake. And on both sides of the stream, there are diverse flowers and trees were planted, and the flower and leaves usually fell into the stream, and therefore, it was named Huagang or Harbor of Flower.
Go on to visit Leifeng Pagoda(雷峰塔) :
Leifeng Pagoda as an important cultural and historic attraction in the West Lake Scenic Area is quite familiar and well-known both in Chinese folk culture and Chinese literature history. Lu Xun once wrote a themed article with Leifeng Pagoda. Thanks to this article, Leifeng Pagoda as a symbol of China traditional culture and the scapegoat of suppressing Lady White is profoundly remembered by youngsters born in 60s, 70s and 80s in 20th century. In a word, Leifeng Pagoda is a shining pearl of West Lake.
After lunch, go to Longjing Tea Plantation(龙井茶园):
It is the best site to experience the tea culture and history of China, and the traditional procedure of making Longjing Green Tea (Dragon Well Green Tea) as well as drinking, picking, smelling or buying. Hangzhou is the traditionally famous city as the site of green tea, and Longjing Green Tea is the king of green tea in the world.
An then travel to Lingyin Temple (灵隐寺):
Lingyin Temple is one of the largest and most significant Chan (Zen) temples in China. Founded in 326 by an Indian monk named Huili, the temple originally had 72 halls and 18 pavilions, once housing 3000 monks. Unfortunately, the only buildings left today are the Celestial King's Hall and the 33.6-meter-high Great Buddha Hall. Lingyin Temple is visited today by pilgrims from all over the world and local worshippers. Worship the Buddha and make a wish there. It is believed that Lingyin Temple is one of the top temples for making your wish come true. Lingyin Temple is also famous for the rocky formation to the left of the path leading to the temple, known as the Fei Lai Feng (Peak That Flew There). Legend has it that the peak was once part of a holy mountain in India before it magically flew to Hangzhou. Along the cliff of Fei Lai Feng there are over 380 Buddhist carved in the rock, dating back to as early as the 10th century. Close to the temple is the Taoguang Hermitage, named after a hermit from the Tang Dynasty. Take a walk through the bamboo groves. You can also take a cable-car (one of the first in China) to the summit and enjoy a nice view of Hangzhou.
After the whole day tour, go back to Hangzhou Railway Station around 6:00pm for Shanghai. Your guide will meet you at the railway station of Shanghai and transfer to hotel in Shanghai.
Day 5 - Shanghai (B/L/-)

The guide picks up you at the hotel of Shanghai, and then travel to Renmin Square(人民广场):
People’s Square is located in the heart of the downtown Shanghai. It is the business center surrounded by official buildings of municipal government of Shanghai, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai City Planning Exhibition Hall and the Grand Theater. It is the leisure and amusement center of Shanghai for shopping and walking.
Then head to the Nanjing Road(南京路):
It is the landmark tourist attraction of Shanghai, and most of inbound tourists may take Nanjing Road as its first tourist destination in Shanghai, furthermore, many professional travel experts also strongly recommend Nanjing Road as a calling card to the Shanghai travelers. To a most degree, Shanghai will be not deserved traveling if Nanjing Road is not visited.
Afterwards, walking to the Bund(外滩):
The Bund is the cultural and historic landmark of modern Shanghai since it opened to be a trading port in the world. The Bund of Shanghai internationally famous as an outdoor architectural museum exhibiting the diverse styles of buildings of the west world.
Go to Shanghai Old Street(上海老街) & Yuyuan Garden(豫园):
Yuyuan garden together with the Old Street is the most famous garden in Shanghai. This delightfully restored labyrinth of tiny specialty shops, tea and snack houses centered a Ming-dynasty mandarin Suzhou-style garden is a fascinating spot to people-watch over a pot of tea, to shop for unique souvenirs and to get a feel for Old Shanghai. It is well worth a meander through the Yuyuan Garden, which has many scenic courtyards decorated with baroque rockery, pools and flora, all connected by corridors and passageways.
After lunch, Visit to Lujiazui(陆家嘴):
Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone is one of the main financial centers in Shanghai China. Located in Pudong New Area, which is bounded by the Huangpu River in the west and the East China Sea in the east, and the largest area of the 18 districts in Shanghai Manhattan of China, it is over the Bund, and the whole finance-trade area is 28 square kilometers. The designed development area is 6.8 square kilometers, and roughly more than 100 towers and skyscrapers have been built. Since its development, Chinese first national financial development zone was opened in 1990 and many foreign financial institutions doing the business of RMB have to set up there offices in Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, therefore, Lujiazui is also the headquarters of many foreign banks.
Also, it is teemed with the futuristic, avant-garde skyscrapers like the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Bank of China Tower and etc.,. And then, have a panoramic view of heart of Shanghai on the 88th floor observation deck of Jin Mao Tower. And then, go back to your hotel.
Day 6 - Leave Shanghai (B/-/)
